Role Overview
The Social Media Manager owns the day-to-day execution and strategic management of social media accounts for consumer brand clients. This role works closely with internal creative, marketing, and paid media teams to deliver organized, on-brand, and performance-driven social content.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple timelines. You are deeply plugged into social culture, comfortable making recommendations, and excited to take ownership of both strategy execution and client communication.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Strategy & Planning
Own development of social media strategies aligned with client goals and brand positioning
Plan and manage monthly content calendars across platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and others as needed
Conduct ongoing competitor and trend analysis to inform content and strategic recommendations
Content & Execution
Develop thoughtful, on-brand social captions that reflect each client’s voice, tone, and personality
Collaborate with designers, content creators, and social media coordinators to ensure cohesive execution
Ensure all content is delivered on time, approved efficiently, and published accurately
Performance & Optimization
Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics, including engagement, reach, and video views
Translate performance insights into actionable optimizations for future content and strategy
Support paid social media planning, execution, and performance analysis as needed
Help to create presentations and case studies on client work and ongoing social landscape
Client Experience
Serve as the day-to-day social media lead for assigned accounts
Lead client meetings, presenting performance insights, learnings, and strategic recommendations
Maintain clear, proactive communication that builds trust and confidence with clients
Collaboration & Culture
Work cross-functionally with internal teams to improve workflows and creative output
Stay up to date on platform updates, emerging trends, and best practices
Actively bring new ideas, tools, and insights to the team to help Hart & Highland stay ahead of the curve

Experience & Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Requirements:
Must have one of the following: a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have at least two years of experience providing social media coordination for a brand/business
Must have at least 2 years of experience managing an Instagram account for a consumer brand(s)
Must have at least 1 year of experience managing a business TikTok account
Must have experience managing social media on Facebook, X, Pinterest, and YouTube
Must have excellent skills in social media caption copywriting
Must have experience with social media community management and engagement
Proficiency in social media management tools, such as Sprinklr, Sprout Social, HeyOrca, or others
Experience with paid social media is a plus
Experience in an agency setting is a plus
Experience with CPG food/bev and wellness/beauty brands is a plus
Experience creating social video content is a plus
Experience with project management software is a plus (Asana, Slack, Dropbox, etc.)

All applicants must read, write, and speak the following languages: English
Ability to commute to Santa Monica, CA, at least once per week
